Rotair Aerospace Corporation Helps US Army Aviation Meet $2.6 Million Critical Shortage of Dampeners

(20 September 2010, Bridgeport, CT)  Rotair Aerospace Corporation began work this month on delivery of a $2.6 million contract for critical Black Hawk rotor head hydraulic spares known as a “dampener.”  This component acts as a “shock absorber” for the rotor blade and dampens ground resonance effects.  An unexpected shortage of these flight critical parts thrust Rotair into overdrive as it responded to the Army’s and Defense Logistics Agency’s urgent requirement with an extremely aggressive delivery schedule.  “We know how very important it is to meet the Army’s needs with the current op tempo. All our employees have been working hard on this requirement right from the moment DLA and the Army asked us to see what we could do to help them”,  said Wes Harrington, President of Rotair, adding that as a result, “Rotair will be shipping three to four weeks early.”
